Protect your health while you’re in Australia.
If you are visiting Australia and hold a temporary visa, you should consider taking out Overseas Visitors Health Cover (OVHC). If you need to visit a doctor or stay in hospital while you are in Australia, you could find yourself responsible for the full cost of treatment, which can be very expensive.
In some cases, health insurance is also a requirement of your visa conditions. Students, for example, are required to take Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), while applicants for working visas such as subclasses 482 and 485 may need OVHC that meets specific requirements.
Having the appropriate cover gives you greater peace of mind and helps you avoid unexpected healthcare costs during your stay.
